Money Minders
Someone to help you keep track, one bill at a time.
Maybe you’re paying the bills for the first time, trying to keep track of due dates, or wondering how to make your budget work.
AgeMaine’s free Money Minders program pairs adults age 60 and over with trained volunteers who help organize everyday finances. We meet in your home and work through things together, at your pace, so you can feel more comfortable managing your money.
“I’ve been dealing with medical issues for over a year and losing concentration and focus. It takes me twice as long now to do certain things. Having someone who can sit down with me and say, ‘We’ll figure this out,’ means everything. Knowing she is there when I can’t manage it myself is such a gift.”
-Cheryl, Money Minder's client
How we help
Your Money Minders volunteer works alongside you to:
- Sort and organize bills.
- Make payments on time.
- Set up a budget.
- Keep your checkbook balanced.
- Help avoid late payments and overdraft fees.
As you get to know each other, there’s room to ask questions, talk through concerns, and feel a little more at ease when the next bill arrives.
